Node 2 Installation Questions

I was recently hired to help a client install Node 2, (they are looking at Windsor Solutions OpenNode 2.0) on their server. I am very familiar with their NodeClient Lite 2.0, but have no experience with OpenNode. For a start, what questions should I aks my client about their server, beyond the usual hardware configuration and OS, (i.e., which version of JAVA, any other relevant software, etc.). Next, what will I need to know about the actual installation. The instructions are pretty involved. Any and all suggestions are most appreciated!

EPA Asbestos Schema 1

The instructions state:

To access the interim Registry:

Go to http://www.exchangenetwork.net/

Click on Registry in the box to the upper left portion of the home page

Search based on posted schema or key word

However, there is no "Registry" link to click on unless I am just missing it. I was trying to get to the EPA Asbestos Schema 1. Any help or information about this schema would be greatly appreciated.

Web Based Node 2 Client

It would be great to have a web based Node Client available for Node 2.

It would remove any software installation road blocks, updates and in
general any issues related to the local machine. Also it would be great for
non-Windows users.

OpenNode2 has all the client software building blocks built it. It just
needs an interface that I'll bet a better Java programmer than myself could
churn out without too much effort.

The Exchange Network Open Source Node (OpenNode2) has been announced at the Exchange Network User Conference in Atlanta, GA.

OpenNode2 is made available by the Environmental Council of States (ECOS) and was developed by Windsor Solutions, Inc. (Windsor).

This solution fully supports both the Exchange Network Node Specifications version 1.1 and the latest Exchange Network Node Specifications version 2.0, published in May of 2008. It is available for both .Net and Java platforms and includes a number of common data exchanges used by EPA and Exchange Network partners.

XMLSpy: copy from EXCEL paste in XMLSPY 2004

Dear members,

normally it is possible to copy table data from excel and paste it into XMLSpy using grid and table view. But when I try this in XMLSpy 2004 only the first element of the grid is filled in. (With XMLSpy 2008, trial version, it works fine) I'm doing it like said in the manual of XMLSpy 2004 ( 5. Mark the table data in Excel, select Edit | Copy, and switch back to XMLSPY 2004.

6. Click in the top left data cell of the table in XMLSPY 2004, and select Edit | Paste. )

Does somebody knows this problem or do I forget something? Can somebody with XMLSpy 2004 try to copy some data from excel to XMLSpy?

For example books book_id book_title book_author 1 bla bla 2 bla2 bla2

....

Geospatial Data Sharing

Hello all,

Are there data exchanges out there that are sharing geospatial data through a publishing geodatabase? Oregon Natural Heritage is working on a proposal to develop a geodatabase to publish Heritage information, e.g. rare species and community information, that would link into the Water Quality Exchange and Biodiversity Exchange.

We are looking at using ArcGIS Server portal toolkit. Has anyone published data on the exchange using this, or similar, technology? Any idea on the resources needed to put this together?

It seems to me that the fcd on the exchange network frs page is stale. It seems to be 1.x and isn't the flow at 2.3?

any one deploying NGN on the Oracle Application Server

We are currently deploying NGN and have already ran into problems with deployment and running of the NGN.

C#/Sql Server .Net Node Implementation

I have been tasked with evaluating a C#/.Net/Sql Server implementation of Node 2.0. I can find the Java implementation from CSC at https://test.epacdxnode.net/ngn/, but not a C# implementation. I was under the understanding that there was supposed to be a version publicly available. Can someone provide me the link, or contact me with information on this.

I'm interested in getting a copy of the latest and greatest Next Generation Node from CSC to kick the tires on.

The best I've found is here and the latest is from April 2008. This seems a little dated in the fast moving world of 2.0.

Any "Next Generation Node" users out there?

Just wondering who else might be using the NGN out there. We've hit a little bit of a road block with getting it configured and I'm wondering what solutions others have found.

To be more specific, the following is a snippet of the error I get when using the admin tool:

javax.servlet.ServletException: RMI lookup for service failed; nested exception is java.rmi.NotBoundException: cdx-core2/DataflowService

Any ideas?
