Oracle Internet Directory (OID) by Bob Jacoby, 19. Feb 2004 09:38

We're looking in to using OID for single sign-on purposes (SSO). I see a couple choices:

1. Use OID solely for SSO to our Oracle dbs
2. Use OID for all our internal SSO needs
3. Use OID for all our SSO needs (both internal and external users)

Are other states using OID? If so in what manner? How does it tie in to your other systems (say - ColdFusion or other non-Oracle products)? How do you envision tying together OID and the NAAS?

Thanks,
Bob

So far, we've stayed away from OID because of those concerns. Up until recently, it hasn't played well with either Active Directory (our internal one) or Novell eDirectory (statewide). And as an implementation of JAAS, it's been quirky.

I'd be interested in what you find out, though.

ME is about to look into SSO via Oracle, but the effort is not connected with the EN and the timetable is unknown.
