It would be great to have a web based Node Client available for Node 2.
It would remove any software installation road blocks, updates and in general any issues related to the local machine. Also it would be great for non-Windows users.
OpenNode2 has all the client software building blocks built it. It just needs an interface that I'll bet a better Java programmer than myself could churn out without too much effort.

Good timing. Actually, EPA has been working on this for a while, but word has not gotten out very much. I just happened to get the URL from Chris Clark last week. This client has all the basic client functionality--along with syndication and some other things that you may find useful. For the most part, EPA has been using this internally, so if you have comments, refer them to Chris Clark at EPA. They are looking for users.
In addition to the basic client, OEI is working on customized clients for specific programs--it is relatively easy to "re-skin" the client to support a single business process and demystify the EN. If you just need it for testing (or even to deploy), you could write instructions that make it usable. There is no need to install or configure anything. Use your NAAS Credentials as usual.
Test - https://nodeweb.epacdxnode.net/node2web/user/default.aspx Prod - https://nodewebrss.epa.gov/user/default.aspx Maybe more later on an SDK/client to accompany the OpenNode2. Stay tuned.

Reply with quote | #3 | I may be off here but this client looks more like a specific user interface than a generalized client to use with a Node's SOAP services.
For example the Submit function ( which I'm focused on right now for our application ) does not allow you to enter you're own Node URL, Data Flow or Flow operation.

This would be great for end users.... but for development I was really hoping for something I could deploy on my laptop and access a node on my laptop.
That said something like this v1.1 tool would be helpful http://epacdxnode.csc.com/ http://www3.gomoos.org:8080/wne/services/v11
The ability to exercise the SOAP services helps me in development and also to illustrate the exact sequence of event's I'd like a developer to do in order to programatically submit data, say with a Perl script.
CGI has a great node client but it's imbedded in their node. Here's page I did using it for testing..... http://www.gomodp.org/projects/exchange-network-project/node-2-web-client
When we get further along with our development I'll contact Chris and see about getting us in the Exchange Network Web Client V2.0. It looks like it will be a handy product to offer our end users.
